Sir William George Granville Venables Vernon Harcourt (October 14, 1827 - October 1, 1904)

Youngest son of William Vernon, Earl Harcourt. He was educated at Trinity College, CambridgeUniversity?, and the InnerTemple? and became Professor of International Law, Cambridge in 1869; solicitor-general, 1873-74; HomeSecretary, 1880-85; ChancellorOfTheExchequer?, 1886 and 1892-5; Liberal leader, 1896-98.
