Religion

An enormously complex subject, then as well as now. One of the difficulties is the rise of agnosticism and atheism as well as the proliferation of small denominations and even what have lately come to be called "cults." Whereas not long before there were only relatively few important religious groups, in the Victorian era things go wild.
