  • Charles Dickens, Jr., Dickens’s Dictionary of London, 1888 (see LondonGuidesAndMaps). Compare also to the 1879 edition at The Victorian Edition; the numbers are of course changed considerably, by a total of about 300 men, but there was also some reorganization of Divisions and the like. Note also that the 1879 edition gives the streets of all the police stations, and I do not find this information anywhere in the 1888 edition.
