Shadows In The Fog

Frederick Bailey Deeming (1842-1892)

Sometimes suspected as Jack the Ripper, Deeming was unquestionably insane and violent. He sometimes acted very strangely, and said that his late mother (d. 1873) had told him to do so. He married and had four children, but his wife and children mysteriously disappeared. He later remarried, but again his wife vanished. Later it was discovered that he had cut all of their throats and left the bodies under his home in Merseyside. He was executed, and his death-mask and skull are in the ScotlandYard Black Museum.
