Shadows In The Fog

Alfred Napier Blanchard

Canvasser, resident of Ascot, near modern Birmingham.

On October 5, Blanchard told the assembled at his local pub (the Fox and Goose) that he had committed the Ripper murders. Blanchard was arrested on Oct. 5, and released Oct. 8, as it was clear that he had been drinking heavily and had no evidence whatever to support his claim, nor was there the slightest reason to believe him.
