Moore, Alan. From Hell. Top Shelf, 2004.
  • Very useful, although based on Knight’s confused account. Moore also weaves in the Hawksmoor stuff. The epilogue about the history of Ripperology is good.

From Hell.
  • A bizarre take on the graphic novel, and thus an even stranger take on the Ripper murders. Everybody panned it, but actually we liked some things about it, notably the acting by the major male players. Unfortunately, the women are mostly awful here, and the bit parts and walk-ons are like something out of a music-hall show.

———. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. DC Comics, 2002.
  • A little pulp-ish, but excellent. Note that there is a second volume, and a big slipcased hardcover. Avoid the film.

Sabotage/The Lodger, director Alfred Hitchcock.
  • The Lodger is from 1926, and the print isn't wonderful, but the movie is very good.
